About Joshua Joseph

Sacred Sound. A Life Transformed.
Joshua Joseph is a composer with a very unique background that gives his music an ethereal, almost “sacred space” feel. This allows the listener to enter a “space” that is solely and uniquely their own — and there, to experience their own sacred encounter with their Creator. One that is intimate, restful, and soothing.

Autism, Silence, and the Triumph of the Spirit
Joshua is autistic (high-functioning). He was 15 years old before he was able to socialize and interact in a somewhat "normal" way. Born with very unusual physical anomalies and a history of silence and difficulty communicating, the triumph of the Holy Spirit in this unusual life is evident in music that stirs the soul and moves the spirit.

Musical Style
Joshua describes his instrumental style as “new-classical,” blending jazz chords with melodic classical lines and arrangements. His contemporary vocal music evokes the feel of the band “Bread,” reimagined for the 21st century.

Albums

• Glory is an uplifting instrumental collection of nine tracks, each composed by Joshua and born from meditative prayer. It invites the listener into a deep, calming connection with God.

• Icon Of My Heart is a contemporary Christian vocal album with powerful, thought-provoking lyrics rooted in themes of repentance, forgiveness, mercy, hope, and love.

Joshua is currently in the studio working on his third publicly released album, Songs for a Sacred Season — a collection of sacred and reflective pieces inspired by the liturgical rhythms of Advent and Christmas.

Personal Life & Formation
Joshua holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in Theology from Mount Angel Seminary. In 2022, he relocated his publishing company, Little Hermitage Music, to the Texas Hill Country, where he now resides with his wife, Teresa. Together, they continue their ministry through sacred music, prayerful retreats, and spiritual writing.

Joshua enjoys working out of his home studio — composing, writing, spending quality time with family, and working on live and virtual retreats with his wife, Teresa.

Retreats & Ministry Events
Little Hermitage Music offers free thematic retreats and prayer concerts upon request. Currently, three events are available in addition to concert ministry:

  A daylong retreat based on Leviticus 11:44 and 1 Peter.
